Hire Deposit Information

We do not normally take a deposit from you, we may do this in special circumstances. The value of this deposit will depend on the value of the item, the length of hire and the delivery location. Before we process your order we will contact you to agree the deposit. All deposits will be returned immediately on satisfactory return of the hired equipment.

We also need to verify your address for our insurers and get a signed agreement returned to us. For your first hire with Lens Lab, we ask you to email us with two forms of ID. One of these should show the billing address. You'll also need to sign and return our Hire Agreement. We may request a deposit where there is an increased risk, such as leaving the UK, or where an increased risk of water damage may be involved.

FIRST HIRE REQUIREMENTS

A NOTE ABOUT INSURANCE: If you can demonstrate insurance that covers the full cost to replace the hired items we will not require a deposit.

PAYMENT OF DEPOSITS: Deposits can be paid in two ways. Either a direct bank transfer - bank details are porvided on request. With this method, there are no fees. The deposit is returned when the goods are received back to Lens Lab. which is usually the day after you dispatch the return. Deposits can also be paid on the payment card - just let us know if this is your preference and we will take the money at the same time as taking the hire fee. With this method, our payment gateway charges a £10 fee that we pass on to you. When we return your depoist, this fee is taken from it.

* Please note that if we can suitably verify your identification we may use our discretion not to hold a deposit. We may decide to take a pre-authorisation to the full cost of the lens. If there is a dispute of any sort we will usually retain the deposit or we may charge the payment card for the full value of the lens where a deposit has not been taken until the dispute is settled.
