I have a favourite tree. It's in a park in Birmingham. I used to walk past it every morning on my way to lectures. It was just the right shape and size. It pleased me aesthetically. I loved it so much I even took a photo of it on a camera with film in it! I hadn't thought about that tree for over 20 years until I read this fascinating article in the Guardian.

My mind boggles when contemplating the generations of humans that have lived their lives passing by, climbing, resting under and eating the fruits of the trees in this article. Oh, the stories they could tell.

Do you have a favourite tree? Here at Lens Lab we'd love to see your favourite tree photos. We'll publish the best alongside your tree story. email: contact@lenslab.co.uk

Or perhaps you'd like to take an awesome autumnal tree shot on our new workshop at High Beeches Woodland and Water Garden.

I'm off to dig out that old photo of my favourite tree ...
