May have been a quick grabbed shot, but it works. I like the monochrome treatment so the sky does not overwhelm the picture. The gulls are perfectly separated, and their shape draws the eye down to the figure.

This is my least favourite of the shots you've uploaded but I agree that it works very well on lots of levels. Technically, it is very good, focal points on the third lines good exposure and while it is compelling, what lets it down for me is that you presented it with shots that are better!
