Cardigan Photo Club
http://www.cpc.ukart.com/ ESTABLISHED: 1993
The Cardigan & District Photographic Society has it’s roots dating back to the early part of 1990, when a group of enthusiastic friends gathered to talk photography in a local pub, the Red Lion in Cardigan. Word soon spread, and new members started appearing, so it was decided to form the group into a club and in 1993 the Cardigan Camera Club was born. A new venue was arranged in the meeting room of the Cardigan Guildhall, where the club stayed for a number of years. Due to outside noise, and frequent interruptions from noisy and drunken youths, a new venue was sought and the club returned to the function room of the Red Lion Inn, Cardigan. In 2004/2005 membership numbers had declined and few activities were programmed, so at the Annual General Meeting in November 2005 it was agreed that a regeneration programme should be started. To provide a fresh identity for the club, the name was changed to the present title and a new, more active programme of events was introduced.
